Spurs bid £17.35m for striker, agent denies talks

TRANSFER TALK

Back on 13 March I brought you news of a scouting mission and reported that we had sent a scout to watch Czech Republic international striker Patrik Schick at Sampdoria. We watched him play a local derby against Genoa, not the first, nor the last time we have been watching him.

Spurs send scout to watch Czech striker Patrik Schick

As with all targets we analyse them statistically and watch video of their games. That means we can isolate him in a video to analyse his movement and not just what he does when he is on the ball. Once we have done our homework and we like what we see then we dispatch a scout to watch him first hand over an extended period, which could be on and off for years.

Schick has been named Czech Talent of the Year and has excelled in Serie A with 7 goals in 807 minutes with 2 further assists. He has also scored a further 2 goals in 3 Coppa Italia games and can operate as a secondary striker. He has 1 goal in 3 appearances for the Czech Republic after making his debut in May of last year, having previously scored 10 goals in 9 games for the Under-21 side.

Clearly we like what we see of the 1.87 m (6 ft 1 in) 21-year-old (22 next January) centre-forward because the Daily Mail are now claiming that Spurs representatives will meet with his agent today to discuss a possible summer transfer.

That story comes from Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport who claims both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are having meetings today, however his agent. Spurs are reported to have made a £17.35 million (€20m - AUS$28.19m - US$21.58m) bid.

"In any case. Patrik Schick Sampdoria player remains what it says Italy's absolute nonsense"

Is that another sign of the end of the road for Vincent Janssen at Tottenham or will he be content to develop as a number three? That seems unlikely as it would affect his international career so a move looks on the cards for him this summer.
