Spurs still scouting young striker Simeone

TRANSFER TALK

Sky Sport Italia report that a number of teams are watching the progress of 21-year-old (22 in July) striker Giovanni Simeone, the son of former Argentinian international and now Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone.

Among them are said to be Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, AC Milan, Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, Sevilla, Valencia and Villarreal. There are also reports that Atletico Madrid would like to sign him as well. The youngster has scored from a large number of headers thanks to well-timed runs into the box, much like Dele Alli has been making recently.

Simeone is under contract at Genoa until 2021 after arriving from Argentinian side River Plate in August for £4.34 million since when he has scored 11 goals with a further 2 assists in 28 games.

He is regarded as a powerful centre-forward who is not afraid of doing hard work off the ball and contributing by defending from the front. He can finish with both feet and has speed as well as intelligent movement, a key ingredient at Spurs under Pochettino.

Will being a fellow Argentinian international help Pochettino to convince Diego Simeone that he will look after his son both off and on the pitch, helping him grow into a striker who makes a name for himself in the world game?

Enrico Preziosi, an Italian entrepreneur.running a number of businesses as well as being the president of Genoa, is asking at least £26.04 million (€30m - AUS$41.65m - US$32.18m) for his prized asset.
