Sigurdsson and Barkley

TRANSFER TALK

Gylfi Sigurdsson has pulled himself out of the Swansea City tour to USA because he isn't mentally right, which means he wants to leave and has had his head turned by the wages Everton are offering him.

Leicester City are said to be offering the 27-year-old (28 in September) Icelandic international £125,000-a-week, with Everton offering him the same, although there are reports suggesting he will be offered the same as Wayne Rooney, £150,000-a-week.

Swansea are said to have rejected a bid of £40 million (€45.6m - AUS$66.67m - US$52.27m) and are reported as holding out for the full £50 million (€57m - AUS$83.45m - US$65.33m) valuation.

Tottenham want Ross Barkley and it may well be that Everton won't let him go until they have secured the signing of Sigurdsson, although Pochettino wants him on the USA trip next week. When we were selling Gareth Bale after he refused to be seen in a Spurs top, he did our buying before releasing him. Is this a similar situation with Everton.
